October is our busiest month here at Paradise Acres, and we’re partnering with local groups, businesses, and families to create a festive fall atmosphere for the thousands of guests who will visit our farm.

In addition to the Pumpkin Patch, Fall Decor, and Hayrides, we’re hosting a Scarecrow Display Contest to make for one of the region’s top autumn attractions.

Scarecrows will be on prominent display in our high foot traffic areas, ensuring your creativity (and organization name) get a lot of visibility.

For the 4th straight year, voting increased significantly for our annual display contest! In 2025, we had 3,182 votes cast. This year, we already have 2 big private events scheduled and our October traffic continues to pick up year after year, so your display will get lots of visibility!

VOTING AND THE GRAND PRIZE

Guests will receive a single ticket to vote for their favorite display while on the Farm. We’ll also post a picture of each display on Facebook and Instagram for online voting. In person votes count for twice as much as online votes. The winning group’s display will receive a $750 credit to be used for an outing here at Paradise Acres before 12/31/2027! The credit can be used for activities only (mini-golf, laser tag, gem mining, ball cannon), not concessions, gift shop, etc.

THE RULES

1. Be creative.
2. Think outside the box.
3. One scarecrow or a big display … it’s up to you!
4. Have FUN.
5. Keep it clean (PG rated for our young community members). Nothing gory or overly scary.
6. The theme of your display can be related to your group/business/family or can be a completely unrelated creative theme.  You should plan to put up signage promoting your business/group either way!
7. Your display must be wind, water & wild weather resistant.
8. Your display can certainly be patriotic but not overtly political or a politically divisive theme. (We want this to be fun for everyone!)
9. Your display must be handmade (not purchased, rented or borrowed).
10. Items such as tiki torches, candles, gas, generators or open flames are not permitted.
11. We reserve the right to reject a display for any reason, especially if it is in any way controversial.

Free! There is NO cost to enter the contest.

EASY PARTICIPATION

1. Submit your electronic registration via the form below.
2. Set up your Scarecrow Display at Paradise Acres anytime the week of Sept 21-25.
3. Paradise Acres guests will vote on their favorite displays Sep 26- Nov 1.
4. The winner will be announced on November 1!
